... my name is Sonam sTopgays. As a real
Zanskari I'm working in tourism since
1974 when Ladakh and Zanskar were opened to turism. During
all this time I collected so many experiences in working as a trekking guide and as a mountaneering guide.
In January 1977, I was lucky to work with Mr. James Crowden. With
my uncle Dorjen Tsering, we organized his winter trek on tChadar. He was the first
western scholar to walk from Nimmu to sTongde.
Then many more clients asked my experience, but first you can
read the pages where Mr. Crowden wrote about my uncle and me in his book. You

Sonam Adventure Trek and Travels was thrn established in 2007 with a view to
deliver professional, streamlined adventure tours in the Himalayas after I led
numerous expeditions and treks in the Ladakh and Zanskar Himalayas for over
thirty years. It was then getting together an experienced team comprising of
local guides and camp staff. Today after having personally reconnoitred all the
areas that we planned to operate in we made sure that everything was conducive
for our tours. Ever since we started operations our main objective was to
promote local tourism and generate employment for local residents so that they
and the valley benefit economically. All our staff comprise of locals possessing
extensive knowledge of the regions' traditions, customs and interesting legends.
They are all well trained and experienced and have successfully led numerous
tours and expeditions to different Valley of Ladakh and Zanskar.
